THE OIL CITY CIVIC CENTER, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COMMUNITY, WILL PROVIDE A MYRIAD OF CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES AND OPPORTUNITIES SOLELY FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES. WE SEEK TO ASSIST EACH RESIDENT OF VENANGO COUNTY TO ENRICH HIS QUALITY OF LIFE. WE FURTHER SEEK TO HOUSE AND PRESERVE COUNTY WIDE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN MAINTAINING AND DEVELOPING COMMUNITY OUTREACH EFFORTS WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT WE RECOGNIZE THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE NATIONAL TRANSIT BUILDING AND ANNEX, AND WE ARE COMMITTED TO ITS PRESERVATION. IN 1978 THE NATIONAL TRANSIT BUILDING WAS PLACED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORICAL PLACES AND THE PENNSYLVANIA INVENTORY OF HISTORICAL PLACES. IT WAS BUILT IN 1890 FOR A COST OF $90,000. OUR OPERATIONS WILL BE ENTIRELY FREE FROM PROFIT MOTIVE.
