VENTURE DEVELOPMENT -SEG'S DELIVERS VENTURE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH A COMPREHENSIVE MENU OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES DESIGNED TO MEET ENTREPRENEURS AND SMALL BUSINESSES WHERE THEY ARE IN TERMS OF LIFECYCLE AND GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION. ADDITIONALLY, SEG TAILORS ITS PROGRAMMING TO BE CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY RESPONSIVE. SEG'S SIGNATURE PROGRAMS INCLUDE AN IDEATOR, INCUBATOR, INCUBADORA AND ACCELERATOR, WHICH WORK AS A PIPELINE FOR ENTREPRENEURS TO EXPLORE AN IDEA, BUILD A BUSINESS, AND GROW THEIR VENTURES. THESE PROGRAMS ARE COUPLED WITH ADDITIONAL SERVICES SUCH AS ADVISING FROM EXPERT VOLUNTEERS. IN 2023 SEG SERVED OVER 332 ENTREPRENEURS AND VENTURES IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH ACROSS SEG'S PROGRAMS AND SERVICES. SEG PROMOTES ENTREPRENEURS WHO HAVE BEEN HISTORICALLY EXCLUDED. IN 2023 OVER 66 PERCENT OF SEG VENTURES WERE WOMEN OWNED AND OVER 55% WERE BIPOC OWNED. SEG'S PORTFOLIO OF VENTURES ARE FIRMLY ROOTED IN SOCIAL IMPACT AND SPAN A VARIETY OF INDUSTRIES, INCLUDING HEALTH AND WELLNESS, FOOD AND AGRICULTURE, AND ENVIRONMENT.
