Baby Care Program, supported continuous home based nursing care to 406 infants, ages 0 to 2 years who experienced high risk of dying in early childhood (i.e. orphans, multiples, preemies, etc) in Malawi. During visits beneficiaries received health assessments, health education, formula (for orphans, triplets, and others without access to breast milk), enriched porridge (for those over 6mo), and nurses worked on community mobilization in their areas as well. Survival rate of those in the program was above 98% compared to a baseline population survival among these high risk infants of 20-75%.

Mother Care Program, 59 women who experienced "near-miss" births received up to six home visits by nurses in Malawi. During visits they had a health assessment, health education, counseling, received supplemental food, and a stipend for an income generating project. Impact was assessed by asking women about their Health Related Quality of Life using the validated EuroQol Questionnaire. Women reported over 80% improvement in all areas (mobility, pain, ADLs, self care, depression) over the period of enrollment.
