DURING THE YEAR THE ORGANIZATION DISTRIBUTED SEVERAL THOUSAND BOOKS TO CHILDREN IN NEW YORK, NEW JERSEY, PENNSYLVANIA, CALIFORNIA, ILLINOIS, FLORIDA AND MARYLAND. THE CHILDREN SERVED WERE FROM ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND SPECIAL PROJECTS (BOYS & GIRLS CLUB SITES, ETC.), AND EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTERS. A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THE DISTRIBUTED BOOKS WERE GIVEN TO CHILDREN THROUGH LOCAL FESTIVALS AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVES.
