A SPRING OF HOPE SUPPORTS VARIOUS PROGRAMS IN SOUTH AFRICA THROUGH THE OPERATION OF A SPRING OF HOPE SOUTH AFRICA. LAND WAS PURCHASED and the building of a new house (Thulani-Riverbed) was started in November/December 2024 and is slated for completion in August 2025. This will ASoH to continue raising funds for the communities in need that it serves. A NEW GAME VEHICLE vehicle was purchased for Thulani Villa. FINANCIAL LITERACY WORKSHOPS for learners and educators were held during Global Money Week in March and Money Smart Week South Africa in August. A Spring of Hope SA partners with the Banking Association SA, Visa Card, First National Bank, Nedbank and Post Bank to bring these valuable lessons to Panayana Primary, Beretta Primary, Morutsi Primary and Nkotobona High School. The year-long GRILS CLUB PROGRAM aimed at empowering young girls in grade 7 with life skills and providing them with menstrual products, was implemented at Matlolane and Beretta Primary Schools. Through our WOMEN IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM, 22 young women were empowered with business management and technical skills. As a result of this intervention, three new businesses focusing on garment manufacturing, e-waste management and beneficiation as well as energy efficient lighting solutions were established. Two more young women were assisted with equipment and access to markets for their jewelry manufacturing business. More than 10 000 meals have been served to learners at Nkotobona High School as part of our AFTERNOON MEAL PROGRAM, aimed at supporting grade 12 learners who attend afternoon classes to improve their results. We are pleased to report that the school increased the grade 12 pass rate by 10%, from 79%- 89%, in 2024. A total of seven PERMACULTURE TRAINING WORKSHOPS, aimed at raising awareness around food security and empowering schools to grow organic vegetables in a sustainable way. A total of 22 schools and community projects benefited from these workshops. Four grade 12 learners from Nkotobona High School started attending ARCHITECTURE Classes facilitated online by A Spring of Hope donor who is an Architect based in Manhattan and supported by A Spring of Hope staff and an educator, locally. The students meet every Friday for 1 2 hours and are currently involved in the design of A Spring of Hope Community Eco-Hub.
