CTCN PROVIDES ONGOING KINGIAN NONVIOLENCE CONFLICT MANAGEMENT, ARTS INFUSED, TRAINING FOR Middle school youth and HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE FULL ACADEMIC YEAR IN CRECS ACADEMY OF AREOSPACE AND ENGINEERING AND CREC IMPACT ACADEMY AND A NINE MONTH PROGRAM AT GREATER HARTFORD ARTS ACADEMY FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. TRAINING FUNDED BY THE CREC (CAPITAL REGION EDUCATIONAL COUNCIL).

ONGOING TRAINING FOR TEACHING ARTISTS: TEACHING ARTISTS HAVE DEVELOPED A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING THE PRINCIPLES OF NONVIOLENCE, ESPECIALLY THROUGH THE LENS OF KINGIAN NONVIOLENCE. IT HAS HAD A PROFOUND IMPACT ON BOTH THE ARTISTS AND THE COMMUNITIES THEY SERVE. THE TRAINING PROGRAMS UNIQUE APPROACH NOT ONLY EQUIPS TEACHING ARTISTS WITH VALUABLE SKILLS BUT ALSO HELPS CREATE A RIPPLE EFFECT OF PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING IN THE COMMUNITIES THEY TOUCH, WHETHER IT BE IN SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY CENTERS OR GATHERINGS.

CONFLICT MANAGEMENT FOR POLICE AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT THE TRAINING PROVIDES AN INTRODUCTION TO THE SKILLS, INFORMATION AND APPLICATION OF KINGIAN NONVIOLENCE CONFLICT RECONCILIATION THAT HELPS BUILD COMMUNITY AND POLICE RELATIONS. IT SETS A BASIC FOUNDATION FOR UNDERSTANDING ISSUES AND PROBLEMS FACING INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS AND COMMUNITIES. THE TRAINING EXPLORES CONFLICT MANAGEMENT CONCEPTS, THEORIES, STRATEGIES AND TECHNIQUES OF THE NONVIOLENCE METHODOLOGY. IT IS A HIGHLY INTERACTIVE, EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE DESIGNED TO TEACH SKILLS AND PROVIDE A PHILOSOPHICAL, COGNITIVE EXPERIENCE.
