Speedway Trail's Association is currently expanding B&O trail in western Marion County, Indiana. This section of trail is being built in cooperation with Hendricks Co B&O Trail Association. The 3-mile section of trail under construction will connect the current B&O Trail in Town of Speedway on the east with Town of Brownsburg's segment of B&O Trail on the west. This link will create 16 continues miles of trail running westward from downtown Indianapolis connecting several communities. Through 2025, $1,519,438 has been spent on land acquisition, design, & construction of this segment of trail. Funding for the project was originated through receipt of Next Level Trails grant through Indiana Department of Natural Resources, with significant contribution of matching funds from Central Indiana Community Foundation.

In 2025, a 200 yard stretch of eastern end of the trail was milled and repaved at a cost of $49,191. Remaining expense is mowing and upkeep of adjacent land.
