We maintain trails, build trails, and promote cross-country skiing in the Southern Mat-Su Valley, Alaska which benefits over 1,000 people annually. Currently, we groom the trails at the Government Peak Recreation Area (GPRA), Independence Mine and Archangel Road at Hatcher Pass, and the Matanuska Moose Range. We maintain and are responsible for expanding the world-class Nordic trail system and facilities at GPRA.

Our club offers several educational clinics and adult ski lessons. We organize community ski get-togethers, run our own series of Nordic races, collaborate with local high schools for races at the venues we maintain, and we host high-level FIS-sanctioned Nordic races at GPRA. We newly offer a year-round community-focused athletic training program called Mat-Su Nordic. This program, led by professional coaches, caters to people of all ages and skill levels, from senior recreationalists to kids striving to compete at elite levels. In addition to ski-oriented activities, we host wildly popular skis-optional seasonal community family-oriented gatherings on the trails. We offer year-round healthy activities and programs to the whole community. We organize volunteers, raise funds, pursue grants, manage projects, and work closely with public and private agencies to build and maintain ski trails and facilities.
At the heart of our organization we have a thriving Junior Nordics program where hundreds of kids learn to ski each winter.
