Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center

Counseling - DARCC provides no-cost, trauma-informed counseling services for survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones through individual, family, couples, and group therapy. Services are delivered by licensed, master's-level clinicians and supervised interns utilizing evidence-based interventions including EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, mindfulness practices, expressive arts, and other survivor-centered therapeutic approaches.In 2025, counseling services continued to be offered both virtually and in person in English and Spanish to increase accessibility and reduce barriers to care. DARCC clinicians served 342 primary survivors through individual and group counseling, providing more than 3,151 individual counseling sessions and facilitating 179 therapeutic group sessions focused on healing, resilience, and community connection. In 2025 a "Healing Through Expressions Group" was added, offering survivors an in-person group opportunity that focuses on healing through art, movement, and meditation.

Advocacy - DARCC provides immediate, trauma-informed support to survivors of sexual violence through its 24/7 hotline, hospital accompaniment, legal advocacy, and ongoing case management services. All advocates, including staff and volunteers, complete a comprehensive 40-hour Office of the Attorney General-approved sexual assault advocacy training to ensure survivors receive compassionate, expert care during moments of crisis and throughout the healing process.In 2025, DARCC advocates and volunteers responded to 2,289 hotline calls totaling 663 hours of direct crisis support, accompanied 386 survivors during forensic sexual assault exams, and provided advocacy and support services to 1,265 (unduplicated) survivors and loved ones. Volunteer advocates contributed more than 19,852 hours of crisis response and survivor support across Dallas County and surrounding communities.
