Health Builders major accomplishments include the following:1. Health Builders trained and mentored 936 healthcare providers in 52 PHC centers on RMNCH, NCDs, IPC, data and resource management. A performance assessment of the 52 Primary Healthcare (PHC) was conducted by Health Builders in March-April 2024, Top-performing facilities in various categories from each of three District in Rwanda, received awards to recognize their hard work and dedication to improving patient outcomes. Health Builders is excited to see that results show that the health center performance has been maintained or increased in many indicators despite changes in health center structure over the past two years. 2. Health Builders is partnering with SANOFI to raise awareness and equip health centers for the early detection and management of hypertension and diabetes diseases in Nyabihu District, the following are detailed achievement on NCDs program:Trained 1,892 community health workers (CHWs) and 51 health centres staff on the detection, treatment, and follow-up of hypertension and diabetes patients Provided 469 testing kits to 469 villages, each consisting of a blood pressure machine, glucometer, strips, and personal protective equipment Conducted door-to-door screenings where CHWs tested 120,568 people for hypertension and diabetes Identified 2,046 new cases, including 1,846 hypertension cases and 200 diabetes cases, all of which were enrolled in the appropriate treatment and follow-up program 3. Pioneering the use of digital tools to improve the quality of care: Health Builders with the support of the Pfizer Foundation partnered with the Ministry of Health to develop the countrys first centralized IMCI module in the national Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system using advanced technology of automated clinical algorithms assisting health professionals in clinical decision making. Our work aligns with the Governments plans to go paperless in primary healthcare.4. Training and Mentoring Nurses and Midwives on Helping Mothers and Babies Survive in 25 Rural Primary Healthcare Centers in Rulindo, Rwanda. The goal of the training was to reduce the risk of maternal and neonatal deaths. 5. Health Builders, in collaboration with Project C.U.R.E donated medical equipment and supplies worth US $ 372,168 to Rwamagana Level-two Teaching Hospital and Mwulire Health Center. In addition, in collaboration with DAK Foundation, Gould Family Foundation and Rulindo District delivered life-saving medical equipment and supplies worth US $ 76,334 including 25 ultrasound machines to the three health posts (Nkanga, Gatwa and Giko). The health posts have significantly improved access to healthcare by reducing travel times and making it easier for residents to seek timely care.6. Health Builders was recognized as the Partner of the Year ending June 2024 and was awarded a trophy and a certificate of appreciation by Rwamagana District. Health Builders is proud to be the winner of this years award.
