Class & Training - Class Instruction and Studio Hours Action Youth Media currently offers 20-25 free, out-of-school classes throughout the year in our studio, as well as in schools, libraries and recreation centers across the region. Classes we offer to include: general production skills, animation, editing, podcast, and documentary production. In 2024 we offered an 8-week model, as well as our studio hours for students independent (i.e. non-class) projects. Advanced students were offered internships in Spring and Summer for which they were paid $15/hr.

Outreach - Special Events We held the Montgomery County Youth Media Festival and our annual Season Showcase at the AFI Silver Theater. Each of these events allows up to 200 youth, members of the community and key elected officials and funders to gather hearing firsthand from the youth creators and engaging in conversation about the value of their work to the community. A newly installed projection system in our studio gives us the ability to screen films made by local youth. We screened three films this year, drawing more than 150 members of the local community to our studio.
