DBC IS ENGAGED IN INTERFACING WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND WILDLIFE AND OWNERS ON TRAP TRANSPORT AND TRANSPLANT OF WILDLIFE, SPECIFICALLY WHITETAIL DEER, WHICH INVOLVED THE ACQUISITION OF PERMITS TO ENGAGE IN SUCH ACTIVITIES AND ENSURING APPROPRIATE HABITAT EXISTS AND SUCH EFFORTS ARE COORDINATED ETHICALLY. DBC FUNDS GRANTS TO ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS TO FUND STUDIES FOR DEVELOPING VACCINES FOR INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
