Mason Schools Foundation helps the community by investing in our public school system to take it above and beyond what tax payers alone can fund. It provides seed funding for innovative programming and a low-risk opportunity to experiment and pilot programs and ideas. Mason Schools Foundation also recognizes both teachers and community members who go above and beyond to make Mason City Schools a terrific place for students to learn and grow. Community Members nominate Above and Beyond Teachers each Spring and one outstanding educator per school building is recognized and rewarded with a grant for their classroom.

The Mason Schools Foundation funds annual grants across all schools starting with back-to-school supplies for all students in financial need. This year, grants included the second year of support for an elementary summer reading program for students who are economically disadvantaged and require reading support to have access to high quality books at home over the summer. Grants also funded calming kits for middle school classrooms designed to improve mental health, Dream Center Carts- to-Go at Mason Intermediate and books to allow students to explore the national parks at Mason Middle School. MSF also continues to support four Window and Mirrors CommUnity events annually.
