ORGANIZATION FUNDS WERE USED FOR VARIOUS COMMUNITY SUPPORT ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: GRANTS ARE MADE TO NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AS PART OF THE FOUNDATION'S COMMITMENT TO ADDRESS IDENTIFIED NEEDS. THE FOUNDATION CONTINUED ITS INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT OF PROJECTS IN HONDURUS. -DURING NORMAL YEARS WE PROVIDE HEALTH AND DENTAL CARE DURING A THREE DAY MEDICAL/DENTAL CLINIC IN COPAN RUINAS, HONDURAS. THE SCOPE OF THE SERVICE INCLUDES DENTAL EXTRACTIONS, RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY, FLOURIDE TREATMENTS AND GENERAL EYE EXAMINATIONS AND FITTING FOR GLASSES FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE REGION. SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS WERE AWARDED FOLLOWING INTERVIEWS OF THE CANDIDATES BY A COMMITTEE OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF ASHEVILLE. SCHOLARSHIPS WERE PROVIDED BY THE TENNENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND AND A GLOBAL GRANT.

HURRICANE HELENE RELIEF EFFORTS. FOUNDATION FACILITATED CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY IN AN EFFORT TO RECOVER FROM THE DAMAGE TO WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA BY HURRICANE HELENE. MUCH OF THE EFFORT INVOLVED ISSUING GRANTS TO OTHER AREA 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS TO ASSIST IN THEIR RECOVERY FROM THE STORM. THE FOUNDATION ALSO FACILITATED THE DISTRIBUTION OF APPROXIMATELY 1,500 PROPANE HEATERS TO AREA RESIDENTS DUE TO THE APPROACHING COLD WEATHER SEASON. FUNDS WERE USED TO PURCHASE BUILDING MATERIALS FOR TWO HABITAT BUILT HOMES.

FUNDED BY GRANTS FROM THE LOCAL ROTARY DISTRICT AND ROTARY ZONE, THE CLUB PURCHASED SUPPLIES AND VOLUNTEERED AT A DAY LONG WORKSHOP IN STATESVILLE, NC TO REBUILD POLLINATOR UNITS AND HELP RESTORE THE REGION'S BEE POPULATION.
