OUR STRONG FAMILIES INSTITUTE (SFI) PROGRAM IS AT THE HEART OF OUR MISSION AND IS DESIGNED FOR LONG TERM SUPPORT. AN SFI COHORT OFFERS 165 CONTACT HOURS OVER 30 WEEKS OF IN-DEPTH EDUCATION, SUPPORT, EXPECTATION AND EVALUATION. SFI HAS SUCCESSFULLY EMPOWERED PARENTS TO TAKE LEADERSHIP IN THEIR HOMES, REDUCE THE CHAOS AND TRAUMA IN THEIR OWN LIVES AND THUS THE LIVES OF THEIR CHILDREN. AS SOON AS A PARTICIPANT GRADUATES FROM SFI, THEY ARE ENCOURAGED TO NOT ONLY STAY INVOLVED AT MY SAFE HARBOR BUT GIVE BACK AND SERVE NEW MOTHERS AS WELL. THESE MOMS THEN BECOME SFI ASSISTANTS AND FACILITATORS, CHANGING THEIR COMMUNITIES FROM WITHIN. MY SAFE HARBOR HAS GRADUATED 419 MOTHERS FROM THE SFI PROGRAM OVER THE PAST 14 YEARS.
