El Paso Children's Hospital is proud to be the only not-for-profit children's hospital within a 350-mile radius across the Southwest region. Our mission extends beyond clinical care: we are dedicated to improving health outcomes for children while equipping physicians and healthcare providers with the resources necessary to meet the needs of a growing pediatric population. As of the most recent count, approximately 230,000 children aged eighteen and under reside in El Paso County. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of pediatric services-including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care-and now offers access to more than twenty-five pediatric subspecialties, ensuring that families can receive advanced, highly specialized care close to home. In Fiscal Year 2024, El Paso Children's Hospital expanded its services with the opening of a comprehensive outpatient multi-specialty center. This state-of-the-art facility features forty-five patient exam rooms and seventeen infusion rooms and serves as a centralized location where children can be seen by multiple subspecialists in a single visit. It also houses a growing number of multidisciplinary clinics, promoting collaborative, team-based care for complex pediatric conditions. The center includes diagnostic audiology, laboratory services, and advanced imaging capabilities, including ultrasounds, X-rays, and echocardiograms-further enhancing both the quality and convenience of care. As a certified member of the Children's Oncology Group, El Paso Children's Hospital provides access to leading-edge cancer treatments comparable to those at top-tier pediatric institutions nationwide. We are also one of only seven hospitals in Texas designated as a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the highest classification available-enabling us to deliver lifesaving care to the most critically ill and premature infants. Our affiliation with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso supports a robust program in pediatric research and education. As a teaching site for Texas Tech's physician residency program, we help shape the next generation of pediatric specialists while advancing innovation in pediatric care. El Paso Children's Hospital maintains a close partnership with the El Paso County Hospital District d/b/a University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) and is co-located on a shared campus with UMC and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. El Paso Children's Hospital serves as a hospital district management contractor of UMC, playing a key role in the regional healthcare safety net, providing pediatric specialty care to uninsured, underinsured, and medically vulnerable children on behalf of UMC. To further support families, the hospital hosts Texas Medicaid Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) personnel on-site to assist with enrollment in CHIP-Texas-a program that ensures children receive Medicaid-like benefits even when their parents are ineligible. While the vast majority of patients qualify for some form of government assistance, those who do not are supported through our charity care policy, which provides free or reduced-cost services based on financial need.
