COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS: 1. Acknowledgement letters and gifts were sent to all School Counselors. Prizes were awarded for participation in National School Counseling Week (NSCW). Short videos will be shared across social media channels and internal communications with all members during NSCW. The videos will center on a day in the life glimpse of the role of a school counselor and how student success is amplified through interaction with the school counselor. An opportunity was shared with all members to participate in a research study to help advance the school counseling profession. Kindness Week webinar was held on January 20, 2025 to share strategies for promoting kindness in schools and communities.

MEMBERSHIP: 1. When students graduate and successfully become employed as a counselor in a school setting, they acquire the designation of First Year Professionals for one year and have a reduced membership rate of $20 for one year. 2. Retirees also get the $20 rate. 3. All other membership rates were increased to $50 per year. 4. Twice a year, all counselors receive a special gift as members of VSCA. A letter accompanies the first gift mailing welcoming counselors to a new school year and describing VSCA s mission, goals, and achievements. The second mailings gift and letter recognize counselors during National School Counseling week.
