Abuse prevention programs which served over 300 at-risk youth during the year. These programs use animal assisted interventions and garden therapy to teach kindness and respect for all living things. For youth between ages 14-18 year, the mentoring project provides vocational training and support. All participants benefit from the HOME Project (Heatherly Organic Meals and Education) by learning the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables. During the year FMNCS provided an estimated 8,000 pounds of organic produce to children in the programs and some of their families. Our animal family increased to 56 with the addition of an emu, a pig, and 20 rescued chickens.
