BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: EXPENSES 145,026; REVENUES 131,598 OUR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH/BILLABLE PSYCHOTHERAPY PROGRAM UNDERWENT SIGNIFICANT TRANSFORMATION IN 2023. DUE TO TRENDING FINANCIAL LOSSES EARLY IN 2023, WE NEEDED TO RESTART OUR PROGRAM TO FOCUS ON INCREASING THE NUMBERS OF SESSIONS BILLED TO COMMERCIAL INSURANCE, EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS, AND MEDICAID SESSIONS, THUS GREATLY LIMITING MEDICARE CLIENTELE WHO PREVIOUSLY COMPRISED 55% OF OUR CLIENTELE. IN 2023 WE PERFORMED 742 SESSIONS, COMPARED TO 3233 IN 2022, WHICH IS A 77% DECREASE. OUR REVENUE WAS ADDITIONALLY ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY A MEDICARE AUDIT. STAFF SPENT SIGNIFICANT TIME FOR THE APPEAL PROCESS, WHICH WAS ULTIMATELY SUCCESSFUL. WE ALSO SUPERVISED AN MSW INTERN WHO PROVIDED PARENTING CLASSES AND ONLINE PARENTING INFORMATION.

COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS IN LINCOLN COUNTY: EXPENSES 100,709; REVENUE 0 WE WERE PLEASED TO RECEIVE AN 18 MONTH GRANT FROM UNM DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH, TO PROVIDE SERVICES IN LINCOLN COUNTY AND TO THE MESCALERO APACHE TRIBE. THE PURPOSE OF THE GRANT WAS TO EMPLOY COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS TO HELP INFORM THE COMMUNITY OF THE 988 CRISIS LINE; TO MAP OUT COMMUNITY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ASSETS; TO PROVIDE COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH RESOURCES, AND ALSO REDUCE MENTAL HEALTH STIGMA. AS A RESULT OF THIS GRANT, WE REASSIGNED OUR OPERATIONS MANAGER TO MANAGE THE GRANT AS WELL AS HIRED THREE NEW STAFF PERSONS IN THE AREA WHO WORKED REMOTELY. DUE TO BILLING CYCLES, THE PROGRAM EXPENDED MORE THAN IT RECEIVED IN 2023 BUT WILL CORRECT IN 2024.
