SINCE OUR INCORPORATION IN 2008, OUR WORK HAS BEEN THE FOLLOWING - WE IDENTIFY, EMPOWER, AND EMPLOY LOCAL COMMUNITY LEADERS WHO HAVE A MISSION TO TRANSFORM THE LIVES OF CHILDREN IN THE KIBERA SLUM OF NAIROBI, KENYA. MORE SPECIFICALLY,WE BUILD SCHOOLS WHERE CHILDREN CAN ACCESS NUTRITION, LEARNING, HEALTH CARE,MUSIC, AND DANCE. TO SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL-BUILDING PROJECTS, WE LEAD VOLUNTEER TRIPS TO STRETCH THE BOUNDARIES OF CROSS-CULTURAL LEARNING AND SERVICE. THESE TRIPS ARE DESIGNED BOTH TO ENCOURAGE GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP AND TO BUILD LONG-TERM SUPPORT FOR OUR PROGRAMS/PROJECTS.

WE HAVE OUR FIVE PRIMARY SCHOOLS THAT CROSSING THRESHOLDS SUPPORTS: 1) FAFU-FACING THE FUTURE, WHICH FEEDS AND EDUCATES 390 STUDENTS, 2)GARDEN OF HOPE WHICH FEEDS AND EDUCATES 475 STUDENTS, 3)DRUG FIGHTERS ORPHANAGE/PRIMARY SCHOOL WHICH FEEDS AND EDUCATES 325 STUDENTS AND SERVES AS A PERMANENT RESIDENCE FOR 50 ORPHANS, 4)CENTER OF HOPE WHICH FEEDS AND EDUCATES 165 STUDENTS, 5) COMMUNITY PILLARS, WHICH FEEDS AND EDUCATES 225 STUDENTS. IN 2023 WE WORKED ON BUILDING THE NEW CENTER OF HOPE SCHOOL, AND WE IMPLEMENTED STRUCTURAL IMPROVEMENTS TO SATISFY THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS, AND WE ANSWERED THE CALL OF SEVERAL EMERGENCIES DUE TO FIRES AND FLOODS.
