THE MISSION OF THE WOMEN'S FOUNDATION OF MISSISSIPPI IS ECONOMIC SECURITY FOR WOMEN IN THE STATE. THE FOUNDATION DOES THIS BY CULTIVATING SOCIAL CHANGE THROUGH RESEARCH, PUBLIC EDUCATION AND AWARENESS EFFORTS, AND A COMPETITIVE GRANTMAKING PROCESS. THE FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO HELPING MISSISSIPPI'S WOMEN AND GIRLS TRANSCEND THE STATE'S DIRE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC BARRIERS. THE ORGANIZATION SEEKS TO CREATE LONG-TERM OPPORTUNITY FOR PERSONAL STABILITY AND STRONGER FAMILIES. WOMEN HAVE A BETTER CHANCE AT ECONOMIC STABILITY WHEN THEY CAN ACCESS PROPER HEALTHCARE, EARN A DEGREE OR RECEIVE RELEVANT JOB TRAINING, AND PURSUE A VIABLE CAREER WITH A LIVABLE INCOME.KEY ACTIVITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS BY THE FOUNDATION IN 2024 INCLUDE:- ONGOING MANAGEMENT OF AN ANNUAL GRANTS PROGRAM INCLUDING: PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE OPPORTUNITY, REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS BOTH IN WRITING AND IN PERSON, REVIEW OF GRANTEE REPORTS, EVALUATION OF GRANTEE PROJECTS, AND ONGOING COMMUNICATION WITH GRANTEES. - COLLABORATING WITH GRANTEES AND SHARING BEST PRACTICES ACROSS ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH IN PERSON AND VIRTUAL MEETINGS.- PROVIDING TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR WOMEN.- PROVIDING EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO WOMEN AND GIRLS IN MISSISSIPPI. - SHARING RESEARCH ABOUT WOMEN AND GIRLS IN MISSISSIPPI.- PROVIDED INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES TO YOUNG WOMEN TO DEVELOP THEIR OWN SKILLS WHILE ALSO ASSISTING THE FOUNDATION IN MEETING OUR OWN DAILY AND ANNUAL GOALS.- PARTICIPATION IN NATIONAL FUNDING NETWORK GROUPS TO COLLABORATE ON PROGRAMMATIC PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES AND FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES.
