HSKC was formed for the purpose of providing heart and vascular surgery to patients. Heart Surgeons of Kansas City, Inc. (HSKC), serves as an extension of Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City. HSKC and Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City are both integral parts of a large healthcare system serving the greater Kansas City area, of which Saint Luke's Health System, Inc. serves as the parent organization. HSKC transplant volumes in the past decade rank among the top 15 heart transplant programs in the nation AND OUR OUTCOMES CONSISTENTLY SURPASS NATIONAL BENCHMARKS. HSKC PERFORMS MINIMALLY INVASIVE AND ROBOTIC ASSISTED SURGERIES, PARTICIPATES IN MEDICAL RESEARCH AND FEATURES THE REGION'S LONGEST CONTINUOUSLY ACTIVE ADULT HEART TRANSPLANT PROGRAM. HSKC HAS A FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICY THAT COVERS PATIENTS WITHOUT ADEQUATE MEANS TO PAY FOR CARE. HSKC ALSO BENEFITS THE COMMUNITY AS A PROVIDER UNDER MEDICARE AND MEDICAID.
