CAMP SUREFIRE FOUNDATION HAS SUPPORTED AND MANAGED RHODE ISLAND'S ONLY CAMP FOR CHILDREN WITH TYPE I DIABETES. WE HAVE PROMOTED EDUCATION ABOUT DIABETES BETWEEN CAMPERS AND THEIR PEERS, COUNSELORS, AND MEDICAL STAFF; AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF LIFE-LONG SKILLS AND RELATIONSHIPS MINIMIZING THE IMPACT OF DIABETES ON PARTICIPANT'S LIVES. THE CAMP PROGRAMS ARE RUN BY DOCTORS, NURSES, AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS.
