To support social and environmental justice movements in 2023, Generative, Somatics offered a free practice space daily to alumni and those familiar with the politicized somatics methodology by Generative Somatics. The program launched in 2022 and is led by majority BIPOC practioners for 30 minutes every day. In 2023,daily practice space was offered 250 times, approximately 100 people registered for daily practice space monthly, and 20-40 peopled attended each day. Additionally, in 2023, Generative Somatics worked in depth with two organizations as Movement Partners, providing support to the entire organization and teams through politicized somatics to align their organizing and day to day work with their values. The organization we worked with were Asian Pacific Enivironmental Network (APEN) and Women on the Rise (WotR). Lastly, in 2023, Generative Somatics offered a free public webinar on the beauty and possibility of politicized somatics in times of crisis and provided over 150 free one-on-one healing sessions to front-line organizers and movement leaders. In 2023, Generative Somatics continued to support its practitioners to ensure they have the training and support necessary to meet the needs of the movement organizations and leaders, this included supporting the training and cultivation of 8 BIPOC practitioners as somatics supervisors, protocol and training for practitioners on how best to work with move- ment organizatins, updated embodied leadership curricula to meet this social and political moment, fully developed standards for practitioner development, and lastly, a four day in-person gathering to embody cultural change, practice, train, and for Generative Somatics future.
