IN MAY OF 2024, THE COUNCIL OF AMERICAN JEWISH MUSEUMS HELD ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN WASHINGTON, DC, ON THE THEME OF "MUSEUMS AND DEMOCRACY: ELEVATING CIVIC ENGAGEMENT". BUILDING ON SEVERAL YEARS OF WORK WITH ITS MEMBERSHIP ON FOSTERING HEALTHY DIALOG AND WELCOMING DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES, THE CONFERENCE WAS A LANDMARK PROGRAM IN THE MUSEUM FIELD AND IN JEWISH CULTURE. THE CONFERENCE WAS ATTENDED BY MORE THAN 200 COLLEAGUES IN PERSON, ENGAGED IN MULTI-DIRECTIONAL CONVERSATIONS AROUND ISSUES SHARED BY MANY DIFFERENT JEWISH MUSEUMS AROUND THE COUNTRY.
