Food Security-Sustainable Woodstock addresses the critical need for sustenance as the root of sustainability for individuals, families and communities by coordinating two community gardens at Billings Farm and King Farm (VT Land Trust), where ~30 families garden annually. We grow hundreds of pounds for the Woodstock Community Food Shelf and Upper Valley Haven at these community gardens. Sustainable Woodstock also distributes Grow Your Own Garden kits free of charge to individuals and families who want to produce their own food. These effors are collaborative with other organizations addressing critical needs for food and nutrition, including Woodstock Community Food Shelf, Reading-West Windsor Food Shelf, Hartland Food Shelf, and Upper Valley Haven.

Water Quality/Flood - Sustainable Woodstock manages and participates in water quality projects, including bank restoration and riparian buffer plantings in the Woodstock area. Sustainable Woodstock also managed flood relief in 2011 and 2023 at Riverside Mobile Home Park, and continues to work with the community there to find solutions to reduce the risk of future flooding

Energy -Sustainable Woodstock sits on the committee that guides the work of Woodstocks Shared Energy Coordinator. This role develops, procures, and manages town-level energy projects. Sustainable Woodstock also promotes energy efficiency and renewable energy through Woodstocks Energy and Transportation Committee (SWEAT), which hosts educational events and conducts local advocacy. Lastly, Sustainable Woodstock offers equal energy opportunities for al by offering free home weatherization resources, grants and assistance to those who are low to moderate income incuding our annual Window Dressers build.
