Since 2014, Enterprising Latinas, Inc. impact has continued to expand economic opportunities for women and low- to moderate-income families in South Hillsborough County. More than 1,400+ residents from Wimauma and the surrounding communities have accessed workforce or entrepreneurship training, leading to higher-paying jobs and new economic prospects. Our dedicated entrepreneurs have introduced a multitude of new services to the community by establishing 200+ new businesses that contributed over $2 million to the local economy. We also saw 200+ members secure new or better-quality jobs. Through our Wimauma Connects network, 500+ households and 25 local businesses have access to free wi-fi service. At least 2,110 residents gained the skills to access the internet and use a computer through a digital literacy initiative that brings the classes to places where residents gather including health clinics, churches, and other service providers.
