CHOCOLATE MINT FOUNDATION

The MINT Food and Nutrition Program seeks to alleviate hunger and poverty, improve the quality of life for individuals and families and removes barrier to healthy food options, and eliminates food insecurities in our local community. Seeks to reduce food insecurity, increase nutritional intake, and promote socialization and healthy living to mobile seniors and promote independent living to homebound, disabled and veterans who cannot easily access food. With the help of volunteers in 2023 TCMF distributed 2,195,876 pounds of food, 731,958 meals to 7,788 food insecure families. We also served 21,301 ready made meals to 223 Seniors over 60 years old and we distributed 1,250 Turkey Baskets at our Annual Turkey Basket Giveaway.

The MINT Youth Education and Mentoring Programs Strive to increase academic success for children and youth ages 5-14 by expanding students' learning in ways that complement methods used during the school day to prevent remediation and identify environmental factors that may lead our youth to participate in high-risk behaviors. Promotes literacy and math as essential components of a child's education by providing one-on-one tutoring, support, and enrichment activities. Provides youth ages 12-18 with the ability to understand and apply financial skills, including finance management, credit building, budgeting, and investing in order to achieve financial literacy. Connects mentors with youth with the efforts to improve their academic achievement, self-esteem, social competence, and avoidance of problem/high-risk behavior by providing a relationship with a caring adult who works to help youth reach their potential. Empower youth to make healthy lifestyle choices and reverse the trend of childhood obesity and its associated health issues by educating children on the value of nutrition, how to prepare healthy meals and exercise. Provides youth with the opportunity to learn life skills, enhance their financial knowledge, and support their pursuit of a college degree or long-term employment through curriculum-based training. TCMF distributed 5,097 toys to 791 kids through our Annual Toy Giveaway for kids. We also distributed school supplies to 750 school aged children through Annual Back to School Event. We reached 1,631 underserved kids through our community outreach events along with providing 10 kids ages 11-14 with Financial Literacy Workshops, Nutrition and healthy lifestyle workshop and College and Career readiness workshop. TCMF also provided Tutoring and Mentoring Services to 50 kids.
