Public Spay/Neuter Program: Thanks to a carry-over grant and a new grant, Charlies Angels was able to continue our public spay/neuter program. Currently, we have been able to spay/neuter 29 dogs and 24 cats. There is grant money remaining for additional procedures. In spaying just one female dog, we will be preventing that one female dog and her offspring from reproducing 67,000 offspring in a 6-year period.

Food Pantry: During and after hurricane Helene left devastating destruction to our local communities and many families were in desperate need of pet food. Truckloads of food from out of State businesses were dropped off with us for distribution. Charlies Angels was able to assist in distributing over 10,000 pounds of pet food to both pet owners coming to our Rescue and to disaster distribution centers in our area. As part of our normal business practice, we distribute pet food that we receive from businesses who do not sell all their pet food supply. We distribute this food to four (4) local pet food pantries. In FY25 we supplied approximately 18,000 pounds of food from our pantry worth approximately $12,400.

Public Emergency Vet Assistance: Charlies Angels received a new local grant to assist local pet owners who are financially challenged with their pets medical emergency veterinary bills. Our assistance is usually $200 to $250 per family. The Emergency Medical Veterinary facility assesses the emergency and the familys financial needs before contacting Charlies Angels to request our assistance. Payment is made directly to the medical facility after the treatment is performed. We will be able to help many families in our community with this grant - approximately 25 to 31 families.
