THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES DRIVER EDUCATION TO MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS OF THE PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA AND CLUB AND RACING ACTIVITIES TO MEMBERS OF THE PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA. THE PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE OF DRIVER EDUCATION EVENTS IS TO PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS WITH ON-TRACK DRIVING EXPERIENCE IN THE PARTICIPANTS OWN VEHICLE TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:1. EXPERIENCE WITH VEHICLE HANDLING UNDER EXTREME BRAKING AND ACCELERATION2. EXPERIENCE WITH VEHICLE HANDLING DYNAMICS UNDER INCREASED AND HIGH SPEED MANEUVERING3. VEHICLES ARE MECHANICALLY INSPECTED BY TRAINED AND APPROVED INSPECTORS TO DETERMINE THAT PARTICIPANT'S VEHICLES ARE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER, ESPECIALLY BRAKES, TIRES, SUSPENSION, HELMET AND RESTRAINTS.4. DRIVING INSTRUCTORS, SPECIALLY APPROVED BY THE PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA ARE AVAILABLE FOR ONE-ON-ONE HELP FOR THE PARTICIPANT. INSTRUCTORS HELP THE PARTICIPANT LEARN THEIR WAY AROUND THE TRACK AND PROVIDE FEEDBACK AS VEHICLE SPEED INCREASES AND VEHICLE DYNAMICS CHANGE.

THE EVENT IS WHEEL-TO-WHEEL RACING FOR QUALIFIED DRIVERS, ALL OF WHOM MUST BE MEMBERS OF PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA.CLUB RACING IS A NATIONAL SERIES ORGANIZED GEOGRAPHICALLY BY THE REGIONS OR GROUP OF REGIONS (ZONES) OF THE PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA. ALTHOUGH A NATIONAL SERIES, EACH ORGANIZER (REGION OR ZONE) HAS FINANCIAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR RACE.THE ZONE 2 CLUB RACE IS HELD IN MARCH EACH YEAR OVER A 3-DAY WEEKEND (FRIDAY-SUNDAY) AT VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY (VIR) IN ALTON, VA. ZONE 2 RENTS THE TRACK FROM VIR FOR THIS EVENT AND PROMOTES THE EVENT THROUGH MAILINGS TO PCA CLUB RACE DRIVERS ON A NATIONAL BASIS AND AT THE LOCAL OR REGION LEVEL. THE GOAL IS TO ATTRACT A SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS TO COVER THE TRACK RENTAL AND OTHER OPERATING COSTS AND TO MAKE A SMALL PROFIT. A PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS FROM CLUB RACING IS TO SUPPORT THE CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES OF VARIOUS NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.
