Multi-sector Initiative to Obtain Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Quality Measures A decline in the use of therapy by people with high Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL-C) has contributed to the reveral of a steady, decades-long decline in cardiovascular disease mortality rates. Improving the measurement and management of LDL-C requires a multi-factor approach executed by leading patients, providers, public health, payers, and industry organizations. The National Forum convened leading organizations to discuss existing trends in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, non-adherence to lipid-lowering therapy, inconsistent monitoring of LDL-C, and quality measures for measurement and management of hypercholesterolemia.
