IN 2025 THE SAGEBRUSH HABITAT CONSERVATION FUND (THE FUND) CONTINUED ITS EFFORTS TO RETIRE FEDERAL GRAZING PERMITS IN IDAHO, NEVADA, CALIFORNIA AND UTAH WHERE SPECIFIC STATUTES AUTHORIZE THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT, THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, THE FOREST SERVICE AND THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE TO PERMANENTLY RETIRE PUBLIC LANDS LIVESTOCK GRAZING ALLOTMENTS. OFFERS WERE EXTENDED TO RANCHERS TO WAIVE THEIR GRAZING PERMITS ON THE SAWTOOTH NATIONAL RECREATION AREA , IN OWYHEE COUNTY, IDAHO, IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND IN SOUTHERN UTAH.IN NORTH WESTERN NEVEDA THE FUND EXPANDED ITS EFFORTS TO CONSERVE AND RESTORE WILDLIFE HABITAT ON ITS VYA RANCH PROPERTY AND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED NEGOTIATIONS TO BUY AN ADJACENT 900-ACRE PROPERTY AND ASSOCIATED BLM GRAZING PERMIT. THE FUND ALSO INITIATED NEGOTIATIONS TO BUY AN ADDITONAL NEIGHBORING RANCH AND ITS ASSOCIATED BLM GRAZING PERMIT.THE FUND COMPLETED SUCCESSFUL NEGOTIATIONS LED BY THE CALIFORNIA-BASED WILDLANDS CONSERVANCY TO RETIRE FROM LIVESTOCK GRAZING OVER 240,000 ACRES OF MOJAVE DESERT PUBLIC LANDS WEST OF NEEDLES, CALIFORNIA ADMINISTERED BY THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE.ALSO IN 2025 THE SAGEBRUSH HABITAT CONSERVATION FUND CONTINUED ITS FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF THE WESTERN WATERSHEDS PROJECT FOR WHICH THE FUND IS A SUPPORTING NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION.
