Damar Charter Academy is a public school sponsored by the mayor of Indianapolis' Office of Education innovation and dedicated to defining and implementing best practices for the education of children with special learning and behavioral needs in grades kindergarten through 12. It promotes the development of full academic, behavioral, social, independent living and vocational services, therapists, and low student to staff ratios not available or accessible in other schools. The school is open to all applicants and currently serves about 180 students with 99% having special needs.
