Food for His Children

In 2025, Food for His Children served 708 households (5,006 individuals) across 14 project sites in Karatu, Tanzania through an integrated model of livestock development, agriculture, entrepreneurship, health, and faith-based community support. Household Stability & Case Management: FFHC conducted 6,273 home visits and facilitated 3,894 participant meetings, resulting in 880 household goals achieved. A total of 506 households progressed in meeting Healthy Home standards, Livelihoods (Livestock & Agriculture): FFHC distributed 220 goats to 87 families, with 947 goat births recorded and 162 goats sold by families, generating income for school fees, food, and medical care. Livestock care included ongoing veterinary support and household training. In agriculture, through climate-smart agriculture, FFHC conducted 1,478 farm visits, providing hands-on training and support to families. Farmer Motivators received seeds and inputs to model best practices, helping extend these techniques throughout their communities. Economic Empowerment: Through savings groups and business training, 341 participants actively saved and accessed loans, with total savings and loan circulation reaching TZS 128,854,600 (approx $50,000) creating stability and opportunity for the future. Street Business School programming resulted in 51 new businesses and ongoing coaching through 196 household visits, increasing income-generating capacity. Health & Environment: Families accessed health insurance support and participated in training on hygiene, disease prevention, and environmental practices. Environmental education initiatives engaged local schools, contributing to improved community health awareness. Faith & Community Development: FFHC provided 1,250 pastoral care visits and facilitated Bible studies, seminars, and outreach activities reaching thousands of participants. These efforts resulted in 68 baptisms, strengthened family relationships through counseling, and supported spiritual growth and community cohesion. Farm & Innovation Center: The Farm & Innovation Center advanced sustainable agriculture through 28 vertical farming structures, year-round crop production, and soil health initiatives. The center trained 66 participants, hosted 101 visitors, and generated TZS 679,000 in revenue from agricultural sales, all reinvested into program operations to support long-term sustainability. Through this integrated approach, FFHC strengthened household resilience, increased income opportunities, improved health practices, and supported spiritual and community development for families living in extreme poverty.
