PROVIDED EXHIBITION SPACE FOR THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF INNOVATIVE CONTEMPORARY FINE CRAFT FROM OKLAHOMA AND AROUND THE WORLD. OFFERED WORKSHOPS, LECTURES AND VIDEO PRESENTATIONS TO AUDIENCES OF ALL AGES. ESTABLISHED A JURIED RETAIL SHOP FOR MEMBER ARTISTS' WORK. PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL ARTS PROGRAMS FOR UNDER-SERVED STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. WE CELEBRATE THE BEST OF CRAFTSMAN IN TEXTILES, QUILTS, CERAMICS, BEADWORK, JEWELRY, WOODWORK, BASKETRY AND MIXED MEDIA.WHAT WE DO ESPECIALLY WELL IS HIGHLIGHT PRESENT-DAY ARTISTS WHO BUILD ON THE TRADITIONAL CRAFTWORK OF THEIR COMMUNITIES USING A NUANCED AND CONTEMPORARY VOCABULARY. OUR PROGRAMS EDUCATE AUDIENCES, INCLUDING SCHOOL AGED YOUTH AND SENIOR CITIZENS. WE HAVE RECENTLY EXPANDED OUR PROGRAMS TO OTHER GROUPS OF INDIVIDUALS TRADITIONALLY UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE. WE WORK WITH MANY SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS TO ORGANIZE THESE EXPERIENCES AND THE GROUPS THEN PARTICIPATE IN MAKING A CRAFT KIT THAT IS DESIGNED TO REFLECT THE TECHNIQUES, MATERIALS AND SUBJECT MATTER OF THE EXHIBITION THEY HAVE TOURED.THE EXHIBITION OF THEIR WORK AND THE ASSOCIATED PROGRAMS GIVE ARTISTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO INTERACT WITH AUDIENCES AND TO TEACH ABOUT THEIR OWN CULTURES. PARTICIPANTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO INCREASE THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT TRADITIONS.THE 3 LARGEST EXHIBITIONS DURING THE YEAR SAW A TOTAL OF OVER 7,900 VISITORS.
