CASA FOR KIDS, INC PROVIDES GUARDIAN AD LITEM (GAL) SERVICES TO EVERY CHILD IN FLATHEAD COUNTY'S FOSTER CARE/DEPENDENT NEGLECT COURT SYSTEM. THIS YEAR WE WERE ABLE TO MAINTAIN OUR GOAL OF ASSIGNING A TRAINED ADVOCATE TO EVERY CHILD WITHIN 30 DAYS. ADDITIONALLY, WE HELPED CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM WITH CLOTHING, EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY AND SPORTS FEES, AND SUMMER CAMPS. WE ALSO SUPPORTED FOSTER PLACEMENTS AND CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN FOSTER CARE BY GATHERING CHRISTMAS GIFT DONATIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY AND DISTRIBUTING GIFTS TO MAKE CHRISTMAS A LITTLE BIT BRIGHTER AND HOPEFULLY ENHANCE STABLE PLACEMENTS. IN 2024 WE RECRUITED AND TRAINED 10 NEW ADVOCATES, BRINGING OUR TOTAL NUMBER OF ADVOCATES TO 71. THIS GROUP OF ADVOCATES SERVED 122 CHILDREN OVER THE COURSE OF 2024. A MAJOR HIGHLIGHT FROM 2024 WAS ASSISTING WITH THE LAUNCH OF THE LINCOLN COUNTY CASA PROGRAM TO BECOME THEIR OWN INDEPENDENT 501C3.
