In 2023, CEP team members worked tirelessly to connect volunteers to children facing homelessness and housing insecurity who need additional academic support and encouragement. CEP is proud to continue meeting students where they are, no matter where they may be, to support their academic aspirations and performance. In 2023, CEP provided vital support to over 434 unique students through our one-on-one tutoring, group tutoring, and general support programs. 179 individual students received at least one hour of one-on-one tutoring per week. More than 250 students participated in Family Reading Nights, Reading Clubs, Homework Clubs, and other group programs. In 2023, the CEP team distributed over 3,000 books, and 250 stuffed backpacks. We also ran two Childrens Learning Centers inside Bay Area Shelters, which provide academic support and enrichment activities five days per week.
