THE 2024-2025 GIRLS ON THE RUN OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA IS GAINING MOMENTUM AND MOVING TOWARDS OUR ALL-TIME HIGH NUMBERS IN SPRING 2020. WE HAD A SMALL BUT MIGHTY CREW IN FALL 2024. WE HELD A MODEST SEASON OF TWO TEAMS AND 29 PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS. WE WERE THRILLED TO HAVE THE TWO RETURNING TEAMS HELPING US GROW OUR FALL SEASON NUMBERS. OUR GIRLS WOULD NOT SUCCEED WITHOUT THE HARD WORK OF OUR COACHES WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR THE 12 COACHES THAT COMPLETED TRAINING AND LED THE GIRLS THROUGH A SUCCESSFUL SEASON. TWENTY-FIVE RUNNING BUDDIES PARTNERED WITH OUR GIRLS WHEN COMPLETING THE CELEBRATORY 5K. THIS YEAR, GIRLS ON THE RUN OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA HAD HELD OUR 5K AT OUR OFFICES. IT WAS A GLORIOUS FALL DAY THE SUN WAS SHINING, AND IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. WE HAD OVER 60 VOLUNTEERS HELPING US MAKE OUR SMALL FALL SEASON PARTICIPANTS FEEL LOVED AND ENCOURAGED TO RUN THEIR CELEBRATORY 5K. WE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY TO PARTNER WITH THE COMMUNITY ON A LARGER SCALE, WHICH WAS A GREAT COLLABORATION. THE GIRLS GOT TO RUN WITH OTHER PARTICIPANTS, THUS PROVIDING LOADS OF ENERGY AND EXCITEMENT SPRING 2025 ROLLED AROUND, MARKING THE BEGINNING OF OUR 15TH GIRLS ON THE RUN SPRING SEASON. THE PROGRAM SERVES 3RD-5TH-GRADE GIRLS AT 27 SITES WE WERE THRILLED TO HAVE 440 PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS. WE HAD A TOTAL OF 125 COACHES FOR THE SEASON. WE ARE EXCITED THAT 97% OF OUR COACHES FINISHED ALL THE COACH TRAINING WE OFFER OUR PROGRAM HAS A FEE, AND WE ARE ALWAYS GRATEFUL WHEN GIRLS CAN PAY ALL OR A PORTION OF THE PRICE; STILL, WE DO NOT TURN GIRLS AWAY. THANKS TO DONATIONS AND SPONSORS, WE COULD SERVE 66% OF OUR GIRLS ON A SLIDING SCALE OR SCHOLARSHIP. WE WERE HAPPY TO PARTNER WITH THE OKC PARKS DEPARTMENT AND HOLD OUR CELEBRATORY 5K AT SCISSORTAIL PARK. WE HAD A BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY TO HELP OUR 440 PROGRAM GIRLS, AND THEIR BUDDIES RUN FUN WE WERE EXCITED TO HOST OVER 900 PARTICIPANTS DURING OUR RUNNING EVENT OUR BOARD FELT THIS 5K WAS OUR SMOOTHEST YET DUE IN LARGE PART TO 98 VOLUNTEERS COMING OUT TO MAKE THE DAY UNFORGETTABLE FOR OUR PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS GIRLS ON THE RUN OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA HELD OUR THIRD ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENT. OUR BOARD WORKED HARD AND PULLED OFF ANOTHER AMAZING PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT IN SEPTEMBER 2024. WE PARTNERED WITH CHICKEN N' PICKLE TO PUT ON THIS EVENT. WE HAD NINE COURT SPONSORS AND THREE FOOD AND DRINK SPONSORS. WE HOSTED 32 TEAMS OF PICKLEBALLERS WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AND LEARNED A LOT. WE RAISED 5667.82 TO HELP OUR SCHOLARSHIP FUND. AS THE 2023-2024 SEASONS ENDED, WE HAVE WORKED HARD ON GOALS, EVENTS, AND WAYS TO CONTINUE SPREADING THE GIRLS ON THE RUN LOVE. AS IN YEARS PAST, WE HOPE TO SERVE ONE MORE GIRL, ESTABLISH ONE MORE SITE, AND OBTAIN ONE (OR MORE) SPONSOR WE HAVE ALREADY HAD SOME NEW AND EXCITING PARTNERSHIPS, HOLDING KENDRA SCOTT FUNDRAISERS AND DEVELOPING A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH DICK'S SPORTING GOODS WE ARE DELIGHTED WITH OUR NUMBERS THIS LAST YEAR AND EVEN HAPPIER ABOUT HOW MANY GIRLS GOT TO EXPERIENCE OUR PROGRAM
