Birdie Derby: Birdie Derby is a fun-filled community event on Thanksgiving produced by Active Youth Wisconsin, whose dedicated volunteers work hard year-round to make your entire experience exceptional. There are options for everyone including walking or running the 5K or 10K, joining a team, or the kids dash. 100% of proceeds from the Birdie Derby stay in the community and support Dane County schools and community centers. The Grants 4 Schools program provides financial assistance, equipment, other resources, and direct funding to enhance educational opportunities and allow children to be active in a safe environment.

Race Series: The mission of Active Youth Wisconsin is to support the health and well-being of kids inside and outside the classroom. By participating in our events and afterschool programs, kids build confidence, form better peer relationships, and develop a positive relationship with physical activity. Afterschool programs: Active Youth Wisconsin Training Teams are 8-10 week afterschool programs, where kids use swimming, biking, and running to develop skills like teamwork, perseverance, and goalsetting. The program culminates by completing one of our multisport events. Minds in Motion is a 6-week afterschool running and mindfulness program that prepares kids for a 5k while building community, fitness, and perseverance. Our programs are accessible to all kids, Over 25000 kids crossed the finish line, building confidence and raising thousands of dollars for their school physical education departments.
