THROUGHOUT 2024, WE CONTINUED TO ASSIST IN CREATING GREEN AND HEALTHY SPACES TO LIVE, WORK, AND LEARN BY PROVIDING ROBUST OUTREACH AND EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES, INCLUDING: UPDATING OUR STRATEGIC PLAN (APPROVED BY THE BOARD IN NOVEMBER 2024) WHICH ADDRESSES TWO KEY AREAS: CONNECTING GREEN BUILDING PRACTITIONERS AND ADVOCATES AND LEVERAGING BUILDINGS AS CLIMATE SOLUTIONS. YEAR-LONG OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT GREEN BUILDING TO CONNECT AND LEARN. IN 2024, WE HOSTED 28 UNIQUE EVENTS PROVIDING GREEN BUILDING EDUCATION AND NETWORKING. THIS INCLUDED A LEED TOUR OF SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM, A SESSION ON LEEDV5 AND A FORUM ON CLIMATE ACTION WITH BUILDING INDUSTRY STAKEHOLDERS. SHOW-ME GREEN SCHOOLS CONTINUES TO CELEBRATE AND RECOGNIZE PREK-12 SUSTAINABILITY EFFORTS. 66 SCHOOL/MENTOR TEAMS PARTICIPATED IN THE GREEN SCHOOLS QUEST, WITH 3,600 STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF ENGAGED IN PROJECTS TO IMPLEMENT LOW AND NO COST SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS. WE ALSO RECOGNIZED 43 MISSOURI GREEN SCHOOLS AND HONORED 1 GREEN RIBBON SCHOOL. THE BUILDING ENERGY EXCHANGE-ST. LOUIS (BE-EX STL) AN INITIATIVE OF MGGBC HOSTED 12 OWNER & OPERATOR LEARNING SESSIONS, INCLUDING SEVERAL BENCHMARKING & HELP SESSIONS CO-HOSTED BY THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS OFFICE OF BUILDING PERFORMANCE. BE-EX STL WORKED WITH THE COMMUNITY BUILDERS NETWORK OF METRO ST. LOUIS, OTHER COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE INSTITUTE FOR SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES ON THE ADVANCING EQUITABLE BUILDING DECARBONIZATION PROJECT. BE-EX STL ALSO SUPPORTED THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS' SUCCESSFUL BLOOMBERG AMERICAN SUSTAINABLE CITIES APPLICATION AND SUPPORTED A NUMBER OF FEDERAL GRANT APPLICATIONS LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY, INCLUDING AN 11.8 MILLION DOLLAR RENEW AMERICA'S SCHOOLS GRANT AWARD TO ST. LOUIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
