THE ORGANIZATION ASSISTS GIRLS AND WOMEN ACHIEVE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND REALIZE LIFE GOALS THROUGH GRANTS IN THE AREAS OF EDUCATION, HEALTH, WELLNESS, CAREER AND LIFE SKILLS. THE ORGANIZATION DID THIS IN THREE WAYS IN 2023 1) THROUGH MAKING GRANTS TO THE FUND FOR WOMEN ENDOWMENT AT THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF ELMIRA-CORNING AND THE FINGER LAKES. IN 2023 THE ORGANIZATION ADDED $20,000 TO THE ENDOWMENT. THE ORGANIZATION HAS A GRANT COMMITTEE THAT MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR GRANT AWARDS TO INDIVIDUALS AND NOT-FOR-PROFITS. IN 2023, TOTAL GRANTS AWARDED BY THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FROM THE FUND FOR WOMEN ENDOWMENT AMOUNTED TO $80,205.2) THROUGH THE FUND FOR WOMEN EMPOWER GRANT TO AN AREA NON-PROFIT. GRANT AWARD DECISIONS WILL BE MADE BY A THREE-MEMBER COMMITTEE AND HAVE A MAXIMUM DISBURSEMENT OF $1,500 PER PERSON.3) THROUGH GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS FROM THE MARY ALICE BOSSELER WIGS FOR CANCER PATIENTS FUND.
