Deaconess Senior Services, Inc., is a holding company designed to coordinate the activities and provide management functions for facilities providing continual medical long term care to a primarily elderly clientele. The facilities are licensed by the state in which they operate. The facilities provide skilled nursing care, with an emphasis on rehabilitation to better able residents to resume their independent lifestyle. DSS, Inc., and its affiliated subsidiary organizations provide complete skilled and intermediate nursing care. Private & semi-private accommodations are available for short & long term illness and physical limitations, as well as extended nursing care, & physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapies are also offered. A variety of social activities are offered daily on the premises by trained staff members. The facilities also provide care for individuals meeting certain financial criteria for whom reduced payment may be anticipated. Total resident days for the managed affiliated facilities for 2020 were 57,053. The Cottingham location was sold effective 6/01/2020, and the Continental Manor & Mason Health Care locations were sold effective 12/01/2020.
