BEAR RECEIVES A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF SUPPORT FROM THE COUNTY. THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AS WELL AS THREE OTHER BEAR STAFF MEMBERS ARE COUNTY EMPLOYEES, AND ALL THESE EMPLOYEES WORKED EXCLUSIVELY FOR BEAR. BEAR REIMBURSES THE COUNTY FOR AN EMPLOYEE'S SALARY COST AND RECOGNIZES THE AMOUNT OF THE REMAINING EMPLOYEE BENEFITS AS IN-KIND CONTRIBUTIONS. IN ADDITION TO THE STAFF SUPPLIED BY THE COUNTY, BEAR CURRENTLY EMPLOYS ELEVEN STAFF MEMBERS AND HAS FOUR STAFF CONTRACTORS THAT ASSIST THE COUNTY STAFF IN SUPPORTING ALL BEAR ACTIVITIES.

BEAR ROOM INVENTORY IS FUNDED BY FOUNDATIONS, FAMILY, AND CORPORATE GRANTS, AS WELL AS CASH AND IN-KIND GIFTS FROM INDIVIDUALS. BEAR EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS STAFF THE BEAR ROOMS. IN 2023, THE PROGRAM RECEIVED THE HELP OF THE 580 YEAR-ROUND VOLUNTEERS AND SERVED 32,503 CHILDREN.
