As one of a few remaining foreign NGO's providing social welfare services to children and families in China, International China Concern (ICC) is a Christian development organization that has been providing love, hope, and opportunity to children with disabilities in Hunan Province for nearly 30 years. The Organization partners with ICC to meet children with disabilities wherever they are. Our Main Projects are as follows:1/ The Family Partners Program is a ground-breaking project established by ICC in Changsha in 2008. It works to provide family support services to hundreds of families caring for children for disabilities. Since its launch, we have worked with more than 600 families, providing access to training, counseling, parent support groups, speech, physical and occupational therapy and special education. In 2024, our social workers conducted 498 home visits and provided 580 special education classes. Additionally, 1,212 special education sessions were delivered in our service centers, and 21 children received wheelchairs and rehabilitation equipment. (Project expense - $90,918)2/ Changsha Care Center - ICC provides care to 75 children and young adults who live in center-based of community-based family-style group home. Services include 24-hour residential care, medical care and surgeries, individualized rehabilitation and therapy, special education and life skills. In 2024, 10 new children were welcomed into ICC's care. We facilitated 9 life-saving surgeries and delivered 5, 876 treatment sessions, including one-on-one therapy, circle time, sensory therapy and 24-hour postural care. ( Project expense - $167,310)3/ Pathways Vocational Training Program provides essential life skills and vocational training to young adults with disabilities journeying into adulthood. The program helps them find purpose, independence, and ultimately seeks to help them find meaningful employment through community opportunities or within one of ICC's social enterprises. In 2024, 48 young adults participated in hands-on learning and work experiences within ICC's Little Arks and craft workshops. (Project expense - $5,000)
