PUBLIC POLICY/GOVERNMENT RELATIONS.Ohio United Way (OUW), our members and Public Policy Committee continue to be a resource for Ohio Legislators regarding health and human services policy development and the state budget regarding issues impacting health, education, and income. Each year OUWs Public Policy committee develops and publishes white papers outlining OUWs position on the years identified priorities. OUW also works closely with our US Senators and members of Congress on issues affecting the work of non-profits and local United Ways as it relates to health and human services. In addition to regular visits to the Ohio statehouse and Washington DC, OUW hosts Lobby Day each April, bringing our members and Ohio legislators together for a legislative luncheon allowing our members to meet one-on-one with their local state legislators and providing an opportunity to discuss local needs and issues.
