NEIGHBOR RIDE PROVIDES DOOR TO DOOR TRANSPORTATION FOR HOWARD COUNTY SENIORS AGED 60 AND OLDER, INCLUDING THOSE LIVING IN PRIVATE RESIDENCES, SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITIES, ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES, AND HOMELESS SHELTERS. THE COST OF ALL RIDES IS SUBSIDIZED, WITH MODEST FEES CHARGED FOR SOME, AND ZERO-COST RIDES PROVIDED FOR THOSE MEETING SPECIFIC CRITERIA. CLIENT RIDES ARE PROVIDED FOR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, SOCIAL AND WELLNESS ACTIVITIES, GROCERY SHOPPING, WORK/VOLUNTEER/EDUCATION, AND FAITH-BASED ACTIVITIES. VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED A YEARLY RECORD OF 17,738 TRIPS TO CLIENT WHICH IS A 15% INCREASE FROM PREVIOUS YEAR AND SURPASSING 250,000 LIFETIME TRIPS. WE SERVED THE MOST VULNERABLE THROUGH NO COST TRIPS FOR 5,500 LOW INCOME CLIENTS, 950 TRIPS FOR VETERANS, AND 475 DELIVERIES FROM HOWARD COUNTY FOODBANK.
