FIRE SUPPRESSION RESPONSE COMPRISES APPROXIMATELY 18% OF OUR DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES. OUR MEMBERS ARE CERTIFIED FIREFIGHTERS THROUGH OUR STATE ACADEMY. RESCUE RESPONSE COMPRISES APPROXIMATELY 10% OF OUR DUTIES. EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES RESPONSE COMPRISES APPROXIMATELY 60% OF OUR DUTIES. MANY MEMBERS OF OUR DEPARTMENT ARE CERFIFIED IN BASIC EMERGENCY CARE THROUGH PARAMEDIC LEVEL CARE TO ASSIST OUR COMMUNITY. OUR REMAINING ACTIVITIES INCLUDE OUR MONTHLY TRAINING FOR OUR FIREFIGHTERS AND OUR ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE, WHERE WE CONDUCT FIRE SAFETY TRAINING TO THE PUBLIC. OUR MEMBERS ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS AND DO NOT RECEIVE ANY MONETARY OR OTHER TYPE OF BENEFIT FROM THE BRIDGETOWN VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT. OUR MEMBERS ARE ON CALL 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK, 365 DAYS A YEAR.
