FOOD RESCUE PROGRAM:IN 2024, WE RESCUED 15,160,794 POUNDS OF FOOD. THIS WAS A 4.5% INCREASE IN FOOD RESCUED FROM 2023. THIS PROVIDED 12,629,066 MEALS. BY DIVERTING THIS RESCUED FOOD WE KEPT 8,232,311 POUNDS OF CO2 OUT OF THE LANDFILLS AND WE SAVED 6,913,064 GALLONS OF WATER. THIS FOOD WAS DISTRIBUTED TO 299 PARTNER AGENCIES. OF THE 299 AGENCIES SERVED, 33 WERE NEW IN 2024. WE RESCUED FOOD FROM 545 FOOD DONORS OF WHICH 101 WERE NEW. OUR 36 YEAR GRAND TOTAL OF RESCUED FOOD WAS 243,368,857 POUNDS.

FOOD HUB/COMMUNITY MARKETPLACE:THE FOOD HUB IS A REFRIGERATED SHIPPING CONTAINER LOCATED IN ADMIRAL KIDD PARK ON THE WESTSIDE OF LONG BEACH. WE DISTRIBUTE THE 4TH SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH. IN 2024, WE SERVED 2,641 HOUSEHOLDS WITH 152,577 POUNDS OF FOOD. THIS WAS AN 123% INCREASE OF HOUSEHOLDS SERVED FROM 2023. IN APRIL OF 2024 WE BEGAN A DISTRIBUTION FROM THE HUB ON WEDNESDAYS. WE CALLED THIS OUR POP-UP DISTRIBUTION. FROM APRIL THROUGH DECEMBER WE DISTRIBUTED 271,399 POUNDS OF FOOD.
