The Foundation provided grants to the following organizations under its three categories of support and resources Community Business and Environment to advance our mission: 1 Marshall Relief Alliance MRA Community - three grants totaling $25,000 Business - one grant for $8,000: The Foundation provided a $10,000 grant to provide heat to more than 15 local families in need during the winter a $5,000 grant to provide secure storage for equipment and supplies used in home rebuilding a $10,000 grant to fund construction of a new gravel entrance for the Rollins community and an $8,000 grant to MRAs Rebuild Marshall micro grant program for businesses working to re-open. 2 Mountain BizWorks Business - one grant for $100,000: The Foundation provided a $100,000 grant for Mountain Bizworks Marshall-Hot Springs NC Rebuild Together program with funds allocated to 30 Marshall and 11 Hot Springs businesses damaged by Hurricane Helene with individual grants ranging from $7,500 to $25,000. 3 Community Housing Coalition of Madison County CHC Community - one grant for $10,000: The Foundation provided a $10,000 grant to CHC to help fund a park model home providing temporary housing for families in Marshall NC while their houses were being reconstructed. 4 Mountain Valleys Resource Conservation and Development RC and D Council Environment - one grant for $65,000: The Foundation provided a grant of $65,000 towards the Rollins Fortner Hollow French Broad River streambed restoration which was damaged during Hurricane Helene in partnership with Mountain Valleys Land of Sky NC Flood Resiliency Blueprint and the people of Rollins & Fortner Hollow. 5 Madison Alliance for Rebuilding Communities MARC Community - one grant for $25,000: The Foundation provided a grant of $25,000 to MARC under its Resilient Homes Program to help fill gaps in funding for more resilient new and renovated homes in Madison County that were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Helene. 6 MountainTrue Environment - one grant of $10,000: The Foundation provided a grant of $10,000 for equipment to support MountainTrues efforts to clean up the French Broad River in Madison County. 7 Other organizations with grants to each organization totaling $5,000 or less Community - three grants totaling $8,000 Business - one grant for $5,000: Grants to these organizations comprised primarily of food pantries and a local arts organization helped feed people in need and repair buildings damaged by Hurricane Helene.
