THE PURPOSE OF RENAISSANCE HOUSE, INC. IS TO ASSURE THAT THE DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED PERSONS WHO RECEIVE OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED THE OPPORTUNITY TO: 1. BE PRESENT IN THE COMMUNITY. 2. PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY FUNCTIONS, AND BE SUPPORTED IN RELATIONSHIPS, WITH VALUED CITIZENS 3. BE AWARE OF AND UNDERSTAND THEIR RIGHTS AND MAKE INFORMED CHOICES. 4. GAIN INCREASED COMPETENCIES. 5. ENHANCE GENERAL REPUTATION AND SOCIAL ROLES. THESE OPPORTUNITIES ARE TO BE PROVIDED IN RESIDENTIAL SETTINGS, SPONSORED BY THE RENAISSANCE HOUSE, INC. IN SENECA, HURON, HANCOCK, SANDUSKY AND ERIE COUNTIES. RESIDENTIAL SETTINGS WILL BE DESIGNED SO THAT ALL SERVICE CONSUMERS ARE ABLE TO HAVE A GOOD HOME, RECEIVE THE ASSISTANCE THEY NEED ACCORDING TO INDIVIDUAL SERVICE PLANS, AND FORM SOLID RELATIONSHIPS. THE AGENCY IS COMMITTED TO SEEING THAT EACH PERSON IS ABLE TO ESTABLISH A PERMANENT LIVING SITUATION. THE PURPOSE OF THE AGENCY IS TO ORGANIZE ASSISTANCE THROUGH PAID STAFF, OR OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS, BASED ON EACH INDIVIDUAL'S NEEDS. ASSISTANCE IS TO BE PROVIDED TO PEOPLE IN THE LEAST RESTRICTIVE SETTING WITHIN AS SMALL OF A GROUPING AS POSSIBLE. WE WILL PROVIDE THIS ASSISTANCE BY USING CULTURALLY VALUED PRACTICES DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THE CONSUMER'S SOCIAL ROLE, USING STANDARDS OF QUALITY WHICH WE EXPECT FOR OURSELVES OR VALUE IN OTHERS. IN ALL CASES, INDIVIDUALS SERVED WILL BE AFFORDED THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE CONTROL OVER THEIR LIVING SITUATION. ASSISTANCE WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE AGENCY TO EACH INDIVIDUAL TO SUPPORT THIS OBJECTIVE.
